Benchmark price levels across currencies with consistency.
Where cross-border parity follows a single SKU, benchmarking compares whole categories and baskets between countries. We build consistent baskets, collect local prices and present them in several currency views so regional teams can compare price levels fairly.
Four steps from sources to signal.
Design comparable baskets
We define a basket per category using equivalent products by tier, size and specification. Where identical SKUs are not sold everywhere, we choose close equivalents and document the substitution.
Collect across markets and retailers
Local prices are captured from several retailers per market to avoid single-retailer bias, with outliers reviewed.
Express in several currency views
Basket totals are shown in local currency, in a reference currency such as USD or EUR, and on a purchasing-power basis where you need affordability comparisons.
Track change over time
Repeat collection produces local inflation and relative price-level trends, separated from currency movement.

How is this different from cross-border price parity?
Parity tracks the exact same SKU across markets to catch corridor breaches. Benchmarking compares whole baskets and categories, using equivalents where identical products are not sold, to understand relative price levels.
How do you choose equivalent products?
We match on tier, pack size, specification and positioning, and document every substitution. You review the basket before collection begins, so the comparison reflects your view of the category.
Can you add a purchasing-power view?
Yes. We can apply publicly available purchasing-power conversion factors alongside market FX rates. This helps when the question is affordability rather than absolute price.
